Recently, about one month ago, my mum came home from work with a crochet hook and some wool. When I asked her if she was having some kind of crisis, now she is heading for 50, she just laughed and began to tell me about a lady at work who crochets. When my Nanna was in hospital this lady had made her a crochet shawl as my Nanna would moan the hospital was too cold!

My mum had decided that she would learn to crochet and off she went, about 2 days later she was happily sat watching Emmerdale and crocheting a blanket! Within another 2 days this blanket was pretty impressive that when I became interested. I have a friend expecting twin, another friend is due to have a little boy and my good friends older sister is also due soon, so I though baby blankets would make a fab personal baby gift for them all. That evening I went to hobby craft and bought some wool and a hook. I was ready!  Well so I thought, I didn’t have a clue what to do now, how did I get the wool on the hook!?? That’s were YouTube came in to play, I YouTubed and YouTubed until I found a tutorial telling me how to make chains and rows ! I was very impressed with myself and then started to google baby blankets, this is when I stumbled upon baby booties !! That was it I wanted to make baby booties !! So after about a week of getting tangled up in knots and getting rather frustrated I had made my first pair of booties ! I was so excited .. it wasn’t long before I had four pairs a baby booties lined up!

Now, what can I make next.. I googled and goodled then I found Amigurum!  From then on I have made all sorts and I am well and truly hooked!!

My mum on the other hand isn’t as impressed as she can’t get the hang of anything else and when I try and show her she just gets in a huff ! I am no-where near as good as most people you see on the internet and I am still very much learning.
